Let me introduce myself. I am a 20 something year old woman who has an addiction to watching movies every day. No, seriously...I will actually have WITHDRAWS if I do not get my daily dose of cinema. I enjoy films of any length and genre from any time period, but I do have a soft spot for Old Hollywood. Also I believe tiramisu, cinnamon rolls, and Spider-Man are the greatest things to ever be invented.
This blog originally started on Substack as a newsletter for me to share my reviews on films I saw in theaters & the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, film recommendations, and my Academy Awards predictions. While I did enjoy my time on Substack, I felt it becoming such a performative platform and just another toxic social media app (I mean they literally gave Nazi's and Andrew Tate a platform YUCK!). I wanted a space that was my own where I could just yap away about my love for film and the people who make them without the toxicity of social media. So here we are.
Basically I plan on continuing what I was doing on Substack here minus the film reviews (these you can find on my Letterboxd). Each month you can expect 1-2 blog posts that range from film essays, love letters to my favorite films/actors/characters, film recommendations, mini biographies of movie legends, film history fun facts, and of course my annual Academy Awards predictions/reactions.
